How do you create a family tree? I'm trying to build a family tree on my own, I need some help and some ideas to create an excellent chart for our family tree.
How to create a 4 family tree? I am creating a family tree for the 4 families in my life. I am getting married and would like to display our 4 family trees, Each of our Mom's and Fathers trees. Did anyone tell Noah that ti takes more than 2 of any species to create a sustainable family tree? If you only have 2 of any given species, the hereditary diseases they have will be spread and multiplied by inbreeding, killing of the species in a few generations. When creating a family tree, does one include a child that died in utero? Ok, I'm referring to a baby that was stillborn. There is an official death certificate, and of course the child had a funeral, and was legally named. There was never a birth certificate since the baby was born dead. Im trying to create a family tree and get stuck after 3 generations.? My family is from (by all accounts) the israel/palestine region. The rumor in the family is that my father grandfather changed his last name during the british mandate and sadly my grandfather passed when I was too young to ask questions. Im stuck as to how I can research my roots when I myself am only a first generation american. My mother is traveling overseas next month and i plan to give her a list of questions to ask all of our older relatives in hopes of getting names of family. Does anyone have suggestions on how I might be able to gather information due to the colonial period and prior? I know that some of my family fled to lebanon and jordan in 1948 and 1967 but we never heard from them again. I fear if i don't get these answers soon they may be lost as the oldest generation in my family hits their 80's and 90's. I have considered doing DNA testing to prove/disprove another rumor in the family (that my fathers side came from albania/macedonia/greece) but not seriously My family is palestinian christian on both sides, there is no real naming scheme (abu or ibn). When creating a family tree, is it required to include ex-spouses? Or can I just use current family info? I have a list of my husband's HUGE family (5 siblings, 20 grandchildren, 60+ great grandchildren, etc), complete with birthdays. I am pretty confident to say, I am probibly the only one in the family with such complete info. Anyway, I thought I would create an online family tree for all of them, so everyone has all the info. HOWEVER, now my mother-in-law is telling my husband that I need to get all the info on the ex-spouses that are no longer in the family for this to be "real." I was planning on only using current family info, but now he's pushing me to ask about past family members -- Is there a problem with using current family members? Will it nullify my work?
