Know any sites (free) to help trace husbands family tree?

My husband has very little knowledge of his extended family. I know this bothers him at times. I would love to find out some things for him and try to get some kind of family tree going for him.

  3. you can begin with his birth certificate. Go to the name of his mother and father. Find out where they were born and married and their parents. If this is not known the marriage certificates and death certificates can be very useful however these can be costly. The usgenweb.com has a site where you can explore state by state. You will nedd to know what counties they were in. Go to ancestory.com and for a small price you can get death records and census records and military records. as well as some marriage records. good hunting.
