  1. http://www.familysearch.org/ http://www.cyndislist.com/ hope these help.
  2. I am not sure what you mean buy buying..I know of alot of sites. I can also help direct or maybe help you find your family. I have a genealogy group with alot of great genealogy helpers:) We can try to help you and it is free. (The link is following message. ) Or I suggest post another question with what you are looking for and maybe I can find your information and post it right hear for you. All you have to do is give me as much information as you can on the person you are searching. I am a volunteer genealogist for many so I hope I can remember your name when you do post a question. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/genealogyclub1/
  3. Use freebmd for tracing birth marriages and deaths from 1837 to about 1901 - really good site - then there is freecen for census information - although this site is not so good - is in contant state of updating - but you might find some stuff of use - then there is familysearch.com - excellent for really old stuff. Hope this is of use - Lesley
  4. Here are a few online resources for you to use: http://www.familysearch.org - Probably the best free online resource. http://www.ancestry.com is one of the best but has a hefty subscription fee (for most of its databases). Also, you can check the surname message boards for your surname at: http://genforum.genealogy.com http://boards.ancestry.com For links to helpful sites, you will want to take a look at: http://www.cyndislist.com And finally for a lot of different resources: http://www.rootsweb.com For grave records: http://www.findagrave.com It won't all be free but it's worth it. Good luck, Dave -- Create a family tree website at http://www.familyinhistory.com/signup
