3. http://usgenweb.org/ is a good place to start. http://www.familysearch.org/ also has an amazing amount of information. Alot of genealogy resources are still offline though. But both of these sites will give you a good place to start. The first one usually lists the local genealogy and historical societys for each county. Good luck.
