How can I research my family tree & ancestry for free?

Or Id be willing to pay a reasonable price too. My parents passed 12 years ago and I am very interested in tracing my family tree back at least 150 years. If you have done this before or know of a good way to go about it, please please help. Thank you!!!

1. Well there's this website called ancestry.com I'm not sure if it works, but It's been on the commercial for a lot of days. So give it a shot!
2. Ancestry.com usually will give you a free trial. I went on there and my family tree was already done!
3. An annual subscription for ancestry.com is $159.40. The 14 day free trial should give you enough time to decide whether or not the cost of a subscription is worthwhile. If you decide not to subscribe, before the trial offer expires, be sure to download/backup your tree on a CD in GEDCOM format. The easy to follow instructions are in the ancestry "Help" section. GEDCOM can be used with most genealogy programs, as well as, paid and free sites.
4. Many libraries offer their patrons access to online databases for free. Some libraries have databases (like Ancestry.com) that you can access for free at the library.
5. Do a search on the web, everyone has a cousin that they haven't seen in years who has done some of the research already. in a search engine type in (your last name)+genealogy you can also try (your last name)+family Good Luck
6. Hi Sarah, I have been tracing My Family History on my Mothers side so far for both her parents. And also have found out alot of information for my Aunty. Go to www.ancestry.com you can search for certain things free of charge. They do give you a free 14 day trial. You can also try your locla library or state library. You can also apply to Register of Births, Death and Marriage for certificates as the hold some good information I have found. U have discovered alot through getting those documents and they have also comfirmed alot of the information for me.
