What variety to grow for roasted red peppers?

I have never grown any red peppers before and have no idea what variety makes a good roasted red pepper - any suggestions? I love to grow heirlooms especially and am into seed saving so non-hybrids are my preference. Thanks!

1. Here is a link to heirloom varieties of red peppers, some with notes about good for roasting and most are open-pollinated (non-hybrid).
2. Any large, blocky bell pepper is good. I've used about 6 different varieties over the years - they're all roasted well.
