  1. well tiff you could press them in a book, and they will come out nice and flat. or you can hang them to dry upside down, but i dont know if this will render a really dry flower. my best bet is to press them in the book itself, and maybe glue them down with a light blotch of glue :)
  2. What a lovely gift. You can press them. This dries them while keeping their colour. Although some flowers press more easily than others - Like roses are very hard to press but daisies are much easier. What you need is a large book (like a text book, encyclopedia, or phone book). Cut the stem to the desired length. Place the flower between two pieces of paper, or paper towel to protect the pages of the book (you can also put some saran wrap on the pages to protect them even more). Make sure petals are not overlapped or folded. You won't be able to unfold them after they've been pressed. Close the book. You can put more books on top to weigh it down more if you like. Wait a few weeks and there you go - pressed flowers! You can press individual petals, leaves, or greenery too. Good luck.
  3. Liztruch has given very good instructions for pressing flowers, so I won't repeat her steps. You can also dry flowers in the microwave, either with paper towels and a heavy object to hold them down, or by using a gadget sold for that purpose called the Microfleur. However, the issue of how to put these flowers in a scrapbook is your next concern. Dried flowers are organic materials, meaning that over time they will rot your scrapbook page unless you laminate them or otherwise seal them. Heat laminating will probably not work as it will destroy the flowers. The best method involves cold lamination, and it is relatively simple to do. You can use clear shelf liner to contain the dried flowers, then attach the shelf liner to your card stock. It's a bit tricky to work with, but if you get a friend to help hold everything in place while you are positioning the shelf liner, it becomes much easier. The process is described in the web sites below
