Who can help me value and restore some family art heirlooms?

We have some pieces of art from maharaja ranjit singh's time ( apparently). Thats would date them over 150yrs plus. Would anyone know of who i could go to to know more about the significance of this artwork as well as legal aspects of what heirlooms can be retained by family and what must be declared. Any suggestions would be appreciated..

3. Auction houses usually have art appraisers on retainer. They would be able to give you contact info. Also, museums will have restorers that they use regularly. They will also be able to tell you who could value the heirlooms. I would start with the large auction houses or museums in the largest city nearest to you.
