  1. Well to be honest I have never created a scrapbook myself, however, I do believe that the best method would be to break the scrapbook into several sections. You break the scrapbook into five major sections representing each decade of this mans life. Within each section will be images or quotes from the respective decade it represents. This is the best I could come up with. Good luck and I am sure you shall do well by it.
  2. We sell premade scrapbooking sets....didn't know if this was what you were looking for. www.wendiejackson.stampinup.net
  3. For TONS of good ideas go to www.creatingkeepsakes.com. Click "Community" then "Gallery" and there are TONS of pages. I would maybe do a 50's themed scrapbook and set it up "Grease" style or like an old-fashioned year book. Rusty Pickle and K & Company have TONS of old fashioned 50's nostalgia papers. Hope this helps! If I knew more about the man and his favorite pastimes, I might be able help a little more! I'm a scrap-a-holic.... SuperRix83@yahoo.com if want anymore help!
  4. If you're sending out invitations to a party, include pretty stationary and ask all friends and family to write something special. It can be a story of a memory or just a quick note to let them know they're loved. Ask for the notes to be sent back to you in a reasonable time period. Also, if they can include a picture that they have, it would make it even more special.
  5. try to find an on line copy of the paper the day he was born in the city he was born in and print it off and use it as the background for photos of him as a child, in school, with family and so on during his live up to this point.
  6. I have a poem I wrote for my dad when he turned 50. Ive got to try and find it. Everyone liked it. It went something like this: You shouldve seen the look in you eyes When you opened the door and we yelled SUPRISE! Oh no! You thought this cant be true! I'm in hell with all of my family and friends too. (get it, his birthday cake was so lit up with flames he thought he was in hell) Its about 2 pages long. If if find it I'll email it to you.

  8. He has lived for 10 decades. Pictures or items from each decade would be a great way to celebrate his life
  9. have other friends and family write short stories about growing up with him and supply pictures if possible. try to find old class mates and write funny stories.
  10. You could use embellishments that referred to his work, family, hobbies and such. Special memories from other family members.
  11. Talk to relatives/ friends who have known him well. Try to get originals or copies of things that affected his life. Know how brand name products change their logos over time? Maybe he had a favourite something and you can find a logo that would take him "back in time." Find a picture of his old school, old chums, from babyhood to present day, of things that mean or did mean something to him. Think of what a boy would have liked back then, toys, etc. and find pictures...then what a teen would have liked in the years he was a teen, etc. Just, don't do what the general public liked. Talk to him about memories and you will find very specific information to work with. You don't have to reveal why, just talk about, "remember when" or "what was it like to be a teen in that year, was it like the movie 'Grease' or what?" What was your favourite pastime, car, thing to do... etc. The more specific, the more meaningful you can make it and will have more things to hunt down. Was he into sports and you can contact a school for either an original or photo of a pennant of a team he played on? etc. etc. Wish you well!
  12. I presume you are doing an entire book....The first thought off my head was a "This Is Your Life" like the old TV show Look up the TV show online for paper and font Idea, do sections like birth, childhood, school, graduation, family, Be guided by what you have pictures of. Leave the last two pages blank with just the layout of his 50th Birthday party. Take, develop and journal the party. Don't forget to include notes from the attendees.
  13. Find pictures of vintage cars/old sports writeups'look online, music of the 60's,add the titles to songs of the 60's,early 70's. if he's into hunting and fishing that works for any age group,

  15. put pictures of family get togethers in there. Also maybe have each family member write him a personal note of a special time they shared with him. If his parents are still alive then maybe ask them to describe in a note about what was going on in their world at the time of his birth.
