Why do the Government not set a precedent with regards to pregnancy under 16?

I live in Eastbourne, where the 13 year old dad happens to live and believe me it is certaintly not rare to see a CHILD pushing a pram or two around the town centre. My problem with the whole situation is the example being set by the Government and the Eastbourne Council. Instead of saying "Right as you are his/her parents and are responsibile for him/her until they are 16 you are now responsible for this baby until your son/daughter is classed as adult and able to take on responsibility for the babies needs. This includes any legal aspects as well as monetary aspects. instead it's we'll do all we can to support the this young family, which presumably means, set them up with a little house, all the benefits they can ask for and milk vouchers for life. If it were the case that the parents were deemed responsible, i bet we would see less under age pregnancy. The law should be changed and sex under 16 should be illegal and come with a criminal record. If you are not working how will you pay for your baby. Why should we as taxpayers, pay for every Tom, Dick and Harry, it doesn't set a good example or teach anything to just give these children all they desire. Why should i have to scrimp and save, so that when i do decide to have children i can pay for them as well as Alfie the 12 year old's babay down the road? oh and get this... because Chantelle will be 16 soon, if her and Alfie move into a council house together she can legally claim benefits as his guardian, as he is under 16 *sick* what is this country (and town) coming to I can't believe that those of us who work and pay taxes are actually carrying on doing it. It shouldn't be a case of what do-gooders think is should be the majority vote, we're paying for the Government to be in place and the working class are constantly shat on. This Country is so bloody concerned with being politically correct we're turning into a circus. We need a Prime Minister with the balls to admit the state of this Country and deal with it, our ministers are far too worried about the words prejudice and discrimination to pop up! I'm 21 and i've already lost hope in this Country and it's morals. I'm even contemplating never having kids, the teachers can no longer discipline (not just with weapons), the nursery nurses can no longer call a child naughty, and the Government is a mockary! Why would anyone (who will actually pay for their own children) want to bring children into this millenium!

Public Comments

  1. I wouldn't mind so much if I didn't have to pay for it.
  2. Sex under 16 is a criminal offence. The rule used to be that both would be taken into residential care, but the message the authorities seem to be giving out is that it's OK for 14 year olds to get pregnant by 12 year olds. What's more worrying is that the Currant Bun appears to be paying them generously for the consequences of their crime. Perhaps if I rape a few 14 year olds, they might pay me.
  3. thats why you should elect me as prime minister ill whip them all into shape muahahaha!! they need to all be beaten
  4. I think that it is time for Britain to vote out those pansies in parliament and start voting Conservative.
  5. I do not like the state to intrude into personal morals. Nature determines when mammals are ready to mate and it is incredibly arrogant of the government to presume to know better. However, children are obviously the responsibility of their parents and beyond health and education, the community should not be expected to subsidise their upbringing. I suggest that when parents are unable to provide for their offspring, benefit should only be paid on production of certificates of sterilisation of the parents. This would ensure that those would be parasites upon the community have only a single successful pregnancy and the dependant underclass will then decline to extinction.
  6. Welcome to the fun side of politics (sorry but I can't put it any better) to put it simply the government refuse to deal with this stuff and also here the big reason if they did cut the benefits and the parents were responsible I think your right but in my view quite a few people would think your wrong and those people matter. On the part with the guardian it is sick and in my view "working the system" and with "what is this country (and town) coming to" it a very, very interesting question who knows for we know the country may go to complete anarchy, or someone may rise up however the way it going now this is the beginning, take a breath and think a moment, see the headline, 6, April 2013 "Mother and Daughter attend same school" It's nice to know someone thinks like me Jake
  7. There is a precedent - It's called the Criminal Justice System. Unfortunately in this broken society of ours it's generally ignored. In this left wing indoctrinated asylum we call the UK we allow the system to teach 8 year olds about sex, we allow the system to provide the pill and free condoms to 12 year olds without the knowledge of the parents and we allow the system to blame the parents when it all goes t!ts up. The system is, basically, Teflon coated and no sh!t will ever stick. This same system, applying it's illogical logic, then tells us that those under the age of 18 cannot purchase a box of matches or a tube of glue as they are not mature enough!! Working on the "looney lefts" theory of how to stop a problem then we should soon be seeing all teenagers in the UK supplied with a free 10 inch hunting knife, and training in correct use, as the answer to knife crime. We live in a lunatic asylum - Trouble is the lunatics are in charge!!
