Family Tree DNA vs Ancestry.com vs dnaproject which is better?

Trying to decide if I should order a genealogy DNA. Does anyone know if I order from one company (say familytreedna) can I use the results with other sites like ancestry, etc?? Or can you only use the results from the site/company you go with?

  1. I went with familytreedna.com, the oldest and largest. They also do DNA tests for the National Geographics Genotype Program, which traces human migration patterns worldwide.
  2. Check with ancestry.com if they approve of you putting your DNA results with your family tree assuming that you already have a family tree registered with them. Me and my family went with DNA tribes. Plus I have several family trees registered with ancestry.com (Australia). It is very rewarding combining family trees and DNA testing because you can verify many written records.
  3. Ancestry.com allows you to enter results from other DNA companies and use their matching if you're a member. FamilyTree DNA is the best (IMO). You can upload your results from FamilyTreeDNA to Y-search also, ysearch.org is the largest database and allows you to find more genetic cousins. Don't forget to also use the free DNA testing from Sorenson at smgf.org.
