Could 'Adam's rib' actually mean part of his DNA strand?
Could 'the tree and the apple' be 'family and siblings'? Isn't 'the death' or destruction of natural DNA structures the real sin against life. People say God is all-knowing. He would also know that the bible wasn't written for 2000+ years ago. He would know that it would be translated over time into eternity until the end of the world. Don't discount ideas so quickly. God is much bigger than any church or peacher. Please. The tree means the family tree. The message being that you don't have sex with your family members as that will result in DNA issues. Inbreeding causes retardation etc. haven't you read of what happened to the royal families of Europe and marrying cousins etc? A nuclear war will kill or negatively affect most life on earth because it will affect DNA. Just throwing up ideas.

- Well, bronze age goat herders didn't know about DNA strands, so, no.
- Only if you're a Christian evolutionist. A real Creationist - praise the Lord and pass the ammunition! - would have no truck with such nonsense.
- Dunno, pencil it in and see if it catches on.
- The tree= sex.
- Adam had perfect DNA. Eve was part of it. Cain married his Sister, where else do you think she came from? They were closer to perfection then and "in breeding" was no problem as it is today.
- The rib was just that - a rib. The actual rib. The rib, like any other bone in the body, contains DNA. By infusing Adam's DNA into Eve, that is why we are all related naturally. Using the rib is symbolic. It was taken from his side, to show equallity. He did not take a piece of Adam's skull to show woman was above man. Nor did he take a piece from Adam's foot to show woman were beneath man. After creating Eve, Adam said she was the blood of his blood, flesh of his flesh. A phrase also used by Jesus Christ. Means oneness. Unity. Completeness. Equality. As far as the tree? It is possible. Until I get to heaven and ask, I will probably never know. Could it symbolically represent family? Absolutely. Somehow I doubt it, though. The real sin against life stems from the original sin and is still very much apparent now. The disobedience toward God.....
- God didn't remove adam's rib he removed the baculum (penis bone) from adam to make eve. That is why humans don't have baculums.
