Difficult Family Tree to Unearth?
Hello. I'm looking for help regarding my current "fascination". I'm in my 30s, so in my opinion I'm starting a little late. But, as I have infertility issues, and I will not be able to pass on my family name or DNA, I'm doing my family tree instead so I have a little something to hold onto until I've passed away (hopefully years and years from now). However, I recently (in the past five years or so) discovered that my grandfather was adopted. Yet, nobody in the family is willing to discuss it, and I can't get any answers from anyone----how am I supposed to even begin doing that side of my family tree? Should I just go with his adoptive parents and list them on the family tree as if they were biological? What would you do? :) Thanks for any information and/or suggestions.

- What I would do is ignore the adoption unless it was dead easy to follow and you said that it wasn't. You did not give any hints as to weather you are male or female and here is the only reason that I bring it up. If you are male then having your DNA done might give you some insight as to what part of the world that your GGGGrand father may have came from. If someday you come to think that you would like to know.
- I wouldn't put the adopted parents on the tree as such but I would continue to investigate them, in the past a lot on informal adoptions were within the family anyway so you could chance upon a link that way. Also with all the new records and people researching their ancestry coming on line all the time something new may turn up - so don't give in yet!
