  2. If its a black and white photo, you should stick to black and white accents -- or black and white with a bit of ONE other color (preferably pastel or subdued, no brights like red or aqua). You could use a pretty black and white flower pattern for the background. Or maybe write notes around the photo about the wedding, quotes from guests or the vows they wrote. Since the photo is old and probably very unique, I advise you to go easy on the decorations. Be very minimal on this page; the photo is the real treasure here! So dont let the photo be overwhelmed by a bunch of ribbon, stickers, and randomness. Be minimal and showcase the photo.
  3. see if you can get any other mementos like her garter, a copy of the invitation, pressed flower from her bouquet, etc.
  4. Do frames and paper in antique. Black and white is nice but common. and most pictures from that time frame are usually in the antique coloring.Old flourish cut outs and old sayings would be neat. Phrases said in and older english, not old english but the "proper" way things were said back then. Put lyrics in there from songs that were popular those times. love poems, type the stories you do know about them and there love and print it out and antique the paper yourself with coke and coffee, use a match to do the edges and maybe put old keys in the book, with Key to my heart under it, old lace, I could go on and on and on!! research 1946 and see the styles and things that inspire you about that time and then dig more on things that would fit!! Good luck! http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xeF3k0iBB2o/SAz3-qFIhqI/AAAAAAAAAF4/VnTctD9VyWY/S660/Altered+scrapbook+1.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_glSUHK2x22g/SC2F3RLe0II/AAAAAAAAAjY/DcipDNlm1j0/s400/antique%2Bkit%2Bby%2Bklarissa.jpg http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/peamage/186000-186499/186128_1000x1000.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3196/2762608430_7d7cceb47d.jpg http://noreimerreason.com/scrapbook/freebies/NRR_kit_8.jpg http://makehappytime.com/sassyclassyandrare/9400/403B-jon-whitcomb.jpg
  5. Pick out things from the news about 1946. Pay attention to what fonts were popular then. Consider sepia tones (which usually goes with those photographs). Make sure that you use corners to slip the photo in. Don't use any tape or anything on the photograph even if it is acid free. Removal later is near impossible without causing some issues with the photograph (my experience anyway). If at all possible, try to get a copy of their marriage certificate, shrink it down and put it somewhere on the page as well.
