My late grandfather had a round lump about 1cm diameter on the back of one of his earlobes. I was always a bit freaked out by it and scared to ask what it was, but I have since learned it may have been a keloid scar. I've heard that keloid scarring is more common in people of African, and other non-white origins. My grandfather was white, but had quite dark skin, and I'm not sure about his ancestral heritage. Could the presence of this scar mean that my grandad had African blood somewhere in his family? Does it work like that? Any statistics that might be relevant? I'm really interested in genealogy but haven't studied actual genes etc since school, so forgive me if I sound like an idiot! Interested to read other people's input. Thanks.
