Where can I get a family heirloom crocheted tablecloth repaired?

I was given my Grandmother's hand crocheted white table cloth. However there are several small holes/tears in the cloth and I don't have a clue about how to get the tablecloth repaired. I don't want to throw it away due to its sentimental value. Any suggestions on what I can do about the damage? Thanks! Lin

  1. I WOULD TRY LOOKING IN THE PHONE BOOK OR TRYING TO CONTACT AN AMISH FAMILY, IN OKLAHOMA THEY DO NEEDLE WORK**
  2. Oh, Dear... that is a problem isn't it! You need to find someone familar with crochet who could replicate the pattern t repair the holes... A number of years ago, our dog who was friendly lunged at the postal carrier tearing her sweater. I told her I could repair it for her. She told the post master the dog attacked her, he didn't, but she was afraid fo dogs so from her perspective I under stand her take on the situation. He wanted me to pay for a new sweater. I told him I thought I could repair the damage. Which she then agreed too. I did repair the hole the dog caused and repaired other damage to the sweater that the dog didn't cause. It can be repaired by an experienced crocheter..... So don't give up on it!
  3. I would go to a fabric supply store where they sell fabric and sewing supplies and ask the people that work there if they or one of their customers does this kind of work, if they don't know, then see if you can leave something on the bulletin boards in the vestibule You may find someone to help you!
  4. Look for it on the internet or on the yellow pages.
