How do I get this fish smell out of my scrapbook/pictures?
I was over a friends house and we were working on our scrapbooks, and she was having fish for dinner that night. So when I left I put all my pictures in a bag and took my scrapbook home. When I went to work on it more later, I opened the bag and it stunk of fish. I tryed spraying febreeze, perfume, and even body spray but it doesn't seem to be working that well.

- Put it all in a big plastic bag and put a bowl of vinegar in with it, on top, use something to tent it. This should neutralize the smell. Put it in a place where it won't be disturbed or dumped over, you may have to leave it for several days. Other than this, you could try setting them somewhere, garage, attic, where it is dry, and just let them set in the open air. The smell should go away in time on its own.
- nature's mother's is a great answer---i think you could also use baking soda to absorb the smell
- Haha...I thought I was the only person that thought there was a fish smell. Now I don't feel like a crazy person! Good question!!!
- Ok, this is easy. Put ONE picture in a plastic baggy, and zip it in there. Then, take the plastic covered pic, and drop it in vinager. Leave it there for an hour. Take out of baggy, and pictures will not smell like fish! But they will smell like vinager and you will have to spray with febreeze again. Good luck!!!!!
- Cover the scrapbook with old newspapers (that does not smell bad). Keep it for a while maybe a day or two, and remove the newspaper and throw it away. Your scrapbook would now be free of fish smell. usually odors absorbed into the newspaper.
